Chamarel Farm takes its name from the famous Seven Coloured Earths of Chamarel, Mauritius — a landscape of volcanic soil in rich earthy reds, ochres, mauves and browns that has inspired our approach to farming from the very beginning. We are just getting off the ground after moving to our homestead in December 2025.

We believe that healthy soil is the foundation of everything. When the earth is
cared for, it gives back — in the form of nutrient-dense produce, thriving ecosystems, and food that actually tastes like something.

We intend to grow a diverse range of vegetables, herbs and fruits using organic methods that work with nature rather than against it. No synthetic pesticides, no
shortcuts — just patient, attentive farming rooted in ecological balance.

Our mission is simple:

We also believe in caring for and nurturing the next generation of farmers who believe in our mission and can move on and do their own thing after having worked here - by paying them a living wage and giving them a share in the profits that we may generate.

We plan on selling our produce through our on-farm shop, our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) boxes, and local farmers markets. If you'd like to support local, organic food systems and get the freshest produce delivered to your door, we'd love to have you as part of our community.
